I used to have a 2007 Gretsch 6128TDS that I foolishly let go. Regarding the stock Dynasonics: they have a very twangy yet percussive sound with not a lot of mids. The best sound IMO is produced by both pu's in combination. To get the most out of theses pu's in a Jet, it's best to raise the bodies of the pu's with shims (you can get them from TV Jones) and lower the pole piece slugs. This will especially improve/fatten the tone of the bridge pu (they tend to sound a little thin on their own). Original/vintage Dynasonics tended to be very high output for single coils (some wound to 12k) but the stock Dyna's on contemporary Gretsch guitars tend to be more in the 7K range. The Duncan Custom Shop and TVJones both make their own versions of Dynasonics which are considered by many to be closer to the originals, especially in the area of hotter output. The Duncan's are very expensive and the TV Jones (while still not cheap) are more reasonably priced.
