Gretsch Duojet 1957 with thumbprint markers

Post by Medicus1963 »

Hi,
i recently got a 6128-1957 Duojet fro, may 2003 which has thumbprint position markers instead of Humpblock inlays it also has the small potentiometers!
is this correct? Did they made a batch with thumbprints?
2003 Must be the First year of FMIC?

thanks for helping!

Peter

Well, the thumbprint inlays certainly would not be correct for a " '57". did Gretsch start using those in '60 or '61?

I have a '59 Duojet with thumbprint inlays.

I believe thumbprint inlays were introduced generally in '58. Here's an Anniversary model from 1958 with those inlays.

Hi Folks,
so here i have got some photos of the Guitar. It had a non working neck pickup, so i decided to have both pickups replaced by hand wound pickups from
a french luthier, they are called Hepcat and sound very fine !
