Kinda like a RIC Custom Shop, as long as you like the results.

Some Ebay auctions can be far more exciting than any sportgame.

Apparently there were two bidders who really, really wanted it. The next highest bidder was at $3920.wim wrote: winning bid : $10200

That extra .125 inch of nutwidth was worth $6K (along, of course, with the other unique goodies on this guitar)! Now there's something to leverage!

Re: Ok, Here it is!
That just boggles my mind...I'm boggled!
Re: Ok, Here it is!
If boggled means having a lump in your throat and a 1000-mile stare, I'm sure the winner of this auction is somewhat boggled, too.kelly wrote:That just boggles my mind...I'm boggled!
I don't recall a RIC factory outlet one-off ever going for five figures.
Re: Ok, Here it is!
Yeah, I guess I just never imagined a non-celebrity owned Rickenbacker could ever fetch that kind of price. Its really boggling!
Re: Ok, Here it is!
Well that should make Eric happy.

Nice end of year bonus?winston wrote:Well that should make Eric happy.
Re: Ok, Here it is!
Nah nothing like that. Eric was given the gears over that guitar by a few people. The price it sold for says it all IMO.jps wrote:Nice end of year bonus?winston wrote:Well that should make Eric happy.

Re: Ok, Here it is!
Amen to that. Now watch all of "those people" drown in sour grape juice...
Re: Ok, Here it is!
what a gift for Rickenbacker. This is the ultimate market research on how much people want a 660-style neck on a 330/360 body. And, consider it has the black hardware and binding, which is not as popular as the traditional-style hardware and binding. Wide neck hollow body 12s, MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Re: Ok, Here it is!
I guess its time to paint my wide-neck 360's white and fish out some black hardware from the parts bin...

Re: Ok, Here it is!
Very interesting bidding....sort of creeps up to just over $4K, then a jump to $10K....Why would anyone more than double an existing bid?libratune wrote:Apparently there were two bidders who really, really wanted it. The next highest bidder was at $3920.wim wrote: winning bid : $10200
