Craziest covers of punk songs

Post by sowhat »

Hi gang,
the point of this thread is, as the title suggests, to remember the craziest covers of well-known punk songs (or you may even call them "punk standards"). Not crazy/funny versions of popular songs made by punk rockers, but vice versa. Here's a few, just as example:
Anarchy in the UK — blues version
Blitzkrieg Bop as done by two guys with toy guitars ukuleles
And, of course, The Return of Jackie and Judy as done by Tom Waits
Your suggestions?

Here I go, tooting my own horn again:

Pretty Vacant by Captain Sandwich http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=68921

Also, on a tribute album to the Clash, Cracker did an awesome country-ish cover of White Riot, but I can't find it on Youtube.

It isn't prohibited to show your own work here, so you're always welcome. And it's crazy enough to fit in with the topic (but a bit too long, imho  ).

The band played Friday night. I use the 330's exclusively. After the show, some guy came up to me and said 'Great show Mr. Rickenbacker!'

I like Camper Van Beethoven's version of "Wasted" by Black Flag.

I'd like to start a Ramones cover band, but play all the songs in the style of the Archies.

Sure, it's not that much of a stretch!

The Ramones approached it from the other end.

Sorry to go back on thread, but how about "Holidays in the Sun" by Hayseed Dixie?
