So...how about a Texas gathering?
Seems we have several folks in and around the Lonestar State.
Re: So...how about a Texas gathering?
I'm trying to sell my house and move to Dallas. Keep me in the loop, Sean. Several members in the Dallas and Houston area.

Re: So...how about a Texas gathering?
I've never been to a Rick confluence, but I've met quite a few Forumites at guitar shows in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This year we'll be having the Dallas Guitar Show on April 18-20 and the Arlington Vintage Guitar Show on October 18-19. At the last Dallas show we had Forumites from all over including Arizona, California, and the UK, but I don't expect to see as many this year. The Arlington show consistantly draws more people. I'm not sure if it makes sense to tie in a confluence with a show (in any city), because the show becomes a major distraction. I would be interested in attending a Texas confluence. If it were held in Dallas/Fort Worth, I would probably volunteer to help organize it.
Re: So...how about a Texas gathering?
Unfortunately I won't be able to go to the Dallas Show next month. I'll be in Chicago. Regardless, I'm still up for any other confluence in the area, or state, if I can make it.

Sean, we have already had two Texas confluence's. The first was you, me and wifey in a KFC. The second was you, me and Graham in the Bass Emporium. Obviously the first one was the best by far .

Great shot....... I'm sure a VG experience for both of you.
Re: So...how about a Texas gathering?
I am planning to be in Dallas. Can someone who has attended this show in the past give me an idea of how it is for Ric hunting? I have RAS bad and a couple of nice Gibsons as trade bait. I realize this is not as big as the Arlington show. It will however be my first guitar show, so I am excited.

It's a good show if you want to buy perfume or sunglasses.
Unfortunately Rickenbacker hunting isn't too easy at any show nowadays.

Re: So...how about a Texas gathering?
Patrick: Pete was alluding to the fact that the show organizers had no problem allowing non-guitar related vendors to help fill empty booths last year. Several aisles unfortunately looked like a flea market. The Dallas Guitar Show is much smaller than the Arlington Vintage Show, and there is less emphasis on vintage instruments. Arlington is your better bet for rare Ricks.
Re: So...how about a Texas gathering?
Thanks for the clarification. I'll still check it out but keep my expectations low. Some of my RAS money just went to a stone mint 1967 Blackface Vibrolux Reverb anyway, so I'll be limited in what I could do anyway unless I decide to sell it. The thing still has the two prong cord, original tubes, and cover. Not a scratch on it.

I can be in the Dallas area any place, anytime for a Rick gathering!!!!
