Name that tune

Post by captsandwich »

Inspired by scotty, let's play name that tune. Here is a video of me playing a shortened version of a song. Who can guess what the song is and who is the original artist?

Join in the fun. It is particularly easy to do if you are a Mac user. I did this plugged straight into my computer.

PS: I don't speak, so you can't make fun of my accent, or lack of, to be precise. :)

That is so familiar, but it's gonna take time to come to me.

It was quite disturbing to see you smirking into the camera whilst gagged and playing. I love it.

Great performance as well fella!

Brilliant.

Now.....what's the song......?

Scott told me the name of the song before he left but................I forget who it is. Isn't that the first sign of old age?

I'll recognise it when I see it stated I am sure..........I hope.

Clue: A British band that first surfaced in 1995.

Nope. Do you need another clue or two maybe?

They are an English alternative rock band from Oxford. The band includes two brothers..............I'll shut up now!

Oasis? Maybe not, "alternative" and "Oxford" rules them out. Then it has to be Supergrass.

Ah, you just gave it away.

Radiohead.

(the Greenwood brothers)

I don't recognise the song though......

It's gotta be Supergrass! They are from Oxford and their first album was released in 1995. Radiohead's first album was released in 1993.

Well, it could be supergrass. They are from Oxford but they first surfaced in 1994 with 'Caught by the fuzz'. But their debut album did come out in 1995.

Radiohead, also from Oxford, first surfaced in 1992 with 'Creep', but their first big album 'The bends' came out in 1995.

I would probably have Scotty down as a Supegrass player rather than Radiohead though. :)
