Come see us in the UK !

Post by gareth »

Yep, I'll be on this bill at the Kentish Town Forum with some pretty impressive acts. If you know your UK punk, then you'll know all of us. I'll be reprising my role with The Shapes. As a matter of pride, we're the only band on the bill that retains their original line up from 1979, although the Radio Stars come close. Paul W is refinishing one of my 4001s in the original jetglo that I sort of made famous back then. We haven't stepped out together on stage for close on 28 years, so it will be interesting to say the least. We may even rehearse once or twice first

Scotty - I'm shocked you'd never heard of The Shapes and Brian Helicopter, Gareth's alter-ego.

Neither had I, until I read this:

Gareth, that is one great stage-name!

Yep. I haven't been Brian Helicopter in nearly 28 years, but I'll take him out for another flight this December.....

The story behind that daft name can be found here.

Funny how things turn out.

Thanks for that Gareth.....great narrative!

For some reason it takes me back to 1982 and a particularly nasty gig at the Sussex Hotel in Sydney...supporting a band that had once supported a band that had supported The Church...

Ahh, to be young and stupid again....

All the very best for the Tour Pathetique! May Brian fly high!

Here you go. Here's the lineup so far. I haven't decided on which RIC to take yet, but I'd like to take the one Paul W is doing for me right now, as that will look just like the one that I used to play with The Shapes back in the day.
