Underwood

Sheena: I especially like this song which, to my ear, is a mix of traditional versus surf and rock.

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Oh my. "Gagarin". Love this song. Too damn catchy. The lyrics are interesting, too, i'm gonna try to make a translation.
This one is pretty nice, too (Imho).

Short info: Ukrainian band, formed in 1995 in Simferopol, started as street musicians, now have five studio albums.
When i mentioned that the lyrics were interesting, perhaps i actually meant they make little (if any) sense. Here you go.
Gagarin
He's turned around, so simple,
With white teeth, an absolute stranger,
Gave his hair a smooth,
Not yet taken by the soreness.
His kind kind mouth
With a tender tender lovely smile
Was touching me with ginger scrub, no matter if he was nobody
Goodbye, goodbye, my dear and shameless.

Refrain:
Life is a pilo-pilotage,
Life has burnt the wings.
Gagarin, i loved you.

He didn't know since then
How long have i been a chip of his parts,
And his stream kicked the back
And he pushed his pedals in silence.
Pain, pain — he fell down,
Broken down, from under the wreckage
Took himself out and has written
On the hull with a golden needle.

Refrain.

As if it was true that God
Has put the milky way on his braids,
His epaulettes burn like mercury,
He's so splendid that we get high.
He's full of white light,
Kind, nice, laughs to you,
His soul is like a firing ground,
He sees the light, and she's singing:
"Life is a pilo-pilotage,
Life has burnt the wings.
Gagarin, i loved you".
Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.
