Help in buying

Post by Bigwags »

Hi Guys,
New member here, stumbled across this forum after hours of goooogling.. Need some advice on getting a new / mint 330 or possibly 620 into Oz. Have looked at ebay USA and websites which seemed all ok,,,, until I came across the nasty side of fakes etc...( i do not want any tears! ) I will be buying this on the "vibe" as I have not played one for years, and then only briefly! so I am running a little blind. But I just gotta have one you know !
Would love any recommendations for dealings in USA and any tips / hints re importing as that looks to be the best option at this stage.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help

Welcome, Wags!

There are quite a few members from your great nation, and I am sure that they have a lot of experience (and advice) on how to get the Rickenbacker that you want.

Welcome to the Forum, Shane. There are a number of us who have gone through the trials and tribulations of bringing Rickenbackers into Australia. In the first instance, I would recommend browsing through this very section of the Forum, where we've I'm sure we've covered this topic in earlier posts. Let us know if there's anything specific you'd like to know.

Hi Shane, welcome to the forum.
You will find the majority of forum members here will be only too happy to help you in your quest.
The important thing to do is ask questions, check and double check.
Darren, Howard and myself have brought many Ricks in from the US over the years without a hitch.
It helps that the friendships formed here in the forum just about guarantee a hassle free purchase.
Best of luck with your impending buy, we have all found that you can't stop at just one Rick!
Where in Oz are you based Shane?

HI Guys,
Another Melbourne boy here... originally country boy!... Thanks for all the comments so far.
At this stage I am thinking a 620 midnight blue, although the 330 is also an option.
Will keep looking and asking questions.
Have had feedback from Ric in Japan... Price does seem a bit hige than that of USA. inc postage
