yepper ! grab those top cap connectors on the 6146b tubes ! it's only the full 6-700 dc plate voltage. ouch ! rare to find those amps not modded to 6550 tubes.

You could only grab those caps with the back off which takes about 30 screws, you wouldn't get shocked anyway through the caps (voltage is not high enough to jump the thickness of the cap) although I wouldn't touch them either with the standby switch on. Most of them got converted because 6146B's are transmitter tubes (got them in my transmitter) and not made for continuous service, they have a rep for running too hot in SVT's although that was mostly with guitars over driving them which bands used to do on big stages years ago (Rolling Stones for example).
