NIC 37 looks like ric went back to vintage specks for the 360 12 c 63. Neck pickup 3.5k short pole treble pickup 7.5 long pole. I own a 360 V 64 6 and a 360 12 wb and I can tell you when playing it through my fender hot rod deluxe clean and comparing the other 2 guitars same settings the 360 12 C 63 sounds the sweetest. Maby its because of the low ohm 3.5k toaster and the use of the blend control. I never thought I would say that, as how much better could it get? Sound is something that you cant put into words because then you get into conflicts about what the other person thinks sounds better so we will leave it here. Do you own sound check and see if you agree. All I can say is that most of the guys that play ricks agree this guitar is special, could be a reason why there is such a waiting list for it.

Hey Rob!

Yeah I Like the sound very much.
So All the 360/12C63 came with Low Resistance Toasters on neck and high 7.4K on the bridge?
I find the neck Pickup a litle weak, but as you said, with the blend Knob you can get sweets sounds.
I wonder where did Rickenbacker get the 3.5 K ohm Figure from.

Cheers
Nicolas.-

So are you saying that all of the 360/12c63 models have had the 3.5k neck/7.4 bridge pickup spec right from the beginning or starting with the most recent batch? Everything I've read online about the 360/12c63, including on the Rickenbacker website, says that the spec for both the neck and the bridge pickup is 7.4k/scatter-wound.

Paul I can"t speak for the early 360 12 c 63 models, but I know that rick went back to original specs on these, so that I would assume that the early models also have the 3.5k bass pickup and the 7.5k bridge pickup. Look under the bass pickup you will not see any extended poles. The treble pickup will have the extended poles and they are both scatterwound. I have a 2010. There are 2 other changes that not too many people speak of, and that is the neck cut, and the fact that the front body is a 3 piece top. Spoke to ric on this and they said they built these guitars by the original blueprints. So that means that georges number 2 was built the same way. The neck cut on these is interesting because it gives a wider feel then a regular rick cut neck. The neck has a flat spot running the length of the back of the neck. Very comfortable. Feels like a 1960s gibson les paul cut neck. The radius of the fingerboard is 7.14" as opposed to the 10" radius of a regular 360 12, and of course 21 frets as opposed to 24 frets. Very easy playing guitar, the neck radius makes a big diference in the feel. So for those of you that thought that a reg 360 12 was too cramped, try one of these, you will be surprised. Somewhere between a 660 12 and a reg 360 12. Hope this helps. :D

Thanks for the info Ron!

Does Rickenbacker have an explanation as to why this seemingly important fact isn't in any of their literature? The dealers don't seem to have this information either!
