Rickenbacker 80th Anniversary Event Feedback- TENTATIVE

Post by johnhall »

This is strictly a feeler, just to see who might be interested in attending, should the event materialize.

What: Rickenbacker 80th Anniversary Show and Car Event
When: Friday, November 18th, 2011
Where: Sunset Marquis Hotel, Hollywood, CA.

Evening private concert headlined by The Bangles, opened by Hautewerk.

Co-sponsorship and cross promotion is by a major European car manufacturer.

The logistics is that attendees must be guests of the car manufacturer or Rickenbacker, and must purchase a two night stay package at the hotel during the event.

As you can see, I have not named the car manufacturer, as that's the reason for this posting . . . to ascertain whether it's worth our and their commitment to this project. I know the brand would make a difference to some of you; all I can say is that I personally don't own any of these vehicles but I know some of you who do!

You might also note the the Sunset Marquis has an excellent in-house recording studio ; you could make this a working stay!

Oh dear!

No amount of pleading with my boss will see me over there.

Then again, I could always resign!!

I'll give it some serious thought. November could be pretty clear.

Sounds like fun to me! Any excuse to drive my Audi from Fresno!

Unless that's not the car maker, then it's the Ford.

I go to SoCal for SCARF, and a month later I hear about this?

I'd love to, get a chance to meet my favorite girl group, but alas, school is in the way. I'll have a chance to meet the girls. This is going to be interesting, because I've never seen Vicki Peterson play a Ric before, she's mostly plays Les Pauls and Telecasters.

I'd like to go. Probably out of my budget though.
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

I'm interested. If you can swing McGuinn, Petty, and/or Mike Campbell to show up, I'm camping out two nights before........ Any idea how much the package will cost?
It's a Byrd, it's a playin'..........
