Same for me. :(
If I manage to land a part-time job before then, I might. Maybe we could split a room or something, I dunno.
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

Put me in the no show column. Sounds like fun though.

We'll see if we can work something out. I don't want to miss this event if it gets planned.
The JETGLO finish name should be officially changed to JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Return airfare alone is $2K from where I live, add the cost of the hotel stay and food and drink and you have more than the cost of buying a new Rick............so that means I can't make it either. We used to get really great deals on flights to all major destinations in California, but not anymore it seems. :(

Woah !! I just found out about the hotel rates...  I'm afraid I'll have to sell the Bentley to be able to put the hotel room into the budget. :( :( This unfortuantely puts a damper on things. :(

Nobody needs to confirm anything yet. First, as I said, this will be by invitation only, although anyone here can certainly request one. Second, there will be a special package rate for this event . . . both for the Rickenbacker portion as well as the car portion (which starts earlier in the week).

Like I said, this is all tentative at this point. RIC, the Bangles, Guitar Aficionado, and the hotel are signed on so far but the car maker is just beginning the review process.

At this point, all you can really do is reserve the date.

As much as I would love to attend any Rickenbacker-themed event, finances dictate that I sent this one out.

I would like to thank JH for letting us know about this, though! Thanks, John!

I would love to apply for an invitation, but I'll be on a road trip to Uluru with my elder son after his final high school exams.... I'd need to make the 4x4 amphibious and take a big detour....

I have just convinced my wife to attend next SCARF :) ....saw The Bangles here in Munich, loved them ! :D ...and last not least it seems that there is some RIC anniversary event every five years from now on 8) , so I could plan to celebrate the year of my 66th birthday at some RIC 85 anniversary

I'm just wondering why it is co-sponsered by a EUROPEAN car brand instead of an AMERICAN family run company not outsourcing the work ! I mean, it's not only the quality of the instruments making RIC something very unique, it's as much the philosophy behind it all !
..but it's a great offer anyhow, thanks John !

I would like to go, but it depends on the costs. Right now the cheapest room is over 300 a night, which is way out of my price range.

Sounds like fun though.

+1

I would be a "maybe" but it all depends on the cost.
