Meatloaf @ AFL 2011 Grand Final Melbourne

Post by gregga41 »

Congratulations to Geelong Football Club for a great victory against Collingwood today at the M.C.G. :D
If any of you get a chance to see the pre-match "entertainment" by Meatloaf, who was paid $500,000 BTW, judge for yourself.
Heads will roll for this one. Disgracefull! :x It also may have ended the career of a once fine performer.

I see it's been taken off Youtube for "copyright" claims!! One wonders if it was because it was so bad, if anyone saw it they wouldn't buy tickets to his shows over the next few weeks in Australia.

The game was great and so was the result. One of the best that I have ever watched in fact. The Cats (Geelong) pulled away in the last quarter and the Magpies lost their will to win it seemed. Prior to that it was a real seesaw battle. I am glad I missed Meatloaf.

People are walking out of Meatloaf's concerts down here in droves! Paying customers are leaving after 3 or 4 songs, because the guy can't even breathe, let alone sing! He's come out calling everyone downunder "jerks" for daring to criticise his immense talent, or lack of it!

Good to see other Geelong fans on here :D Meatloaf was woeful but everything else about the day was fantastic. Except for Pods going down but Hawkins was awesome from that point forward. Have been to the 3 grand finals we've won in the last five years and every flag has been special but the fact this one was against Collingwood makes it the pick of them.

You can blame Aitch and his son Pat for making me watch games and re-runs when I visited them in Melbourne in 2007. I have been a fan of Geelong and also addicted to the game itself ever since.

That's really cool Winston. I always like hearing of people that love our great game on the other side of the world! Especially when they are Geelong fans :D

Harvey, did you not read the first words of Brian's post??.......Quote."You can blame Aitch!" Unquote.
Brian never had a choice, it was Geelong or 'hit the road".
Can't believe it's been nearly 5 years Brian!!

Best AFL team going mate. My apologies to supporters of other sides of course. But the facts are the facts. :D

Greg, the years have screamed by somehow. Where does time go?

Great memories for sure. You all made us feel right at home. It was great to spend time with you lot in Melbourne. I had a great time and so did my wife. I developed a real affinity for Australia and all the people that I was fortunate to meet there. I feel truly blessed that I had an opportunity to hang out and jam with so many of you.

I also had a great time meeting Howard's friends and family. My only regret is that we lost a real gentleman a while back and I did not get a chance to come back to see him. Patrick will always fill a special place in our hearts, as I know he does in Aitch's. He was a prince of a man. I never met anyone so kind to absolute strangers in my entire life. The world needs more people like him. It would be a much better place.

Cheers...........
