The Rickenbacker Ledger?

Post by johnnysain »

"This is one of 2 checkerboard bound lefty 4001's ever made in mapleglo, according to the Rickenbacker ledger."

Anyone have a link or info on this 'ledger'?

Perhaps the seller is referring to the Richard Smith data.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Is any of that data available for posting without upsetting anyone too much?

FWIW-
John Hall pretty much laid it out for me when he explained how "off" the totals are in Richard Smith's book.
He told me that even he doesn't know the production totals.
We were discussing a '65, so maybe by the early '70s, things were different.

That said, the 4001's from '71 are very rare, and multiply by the n'th degree when it's a lefty.

Wait a minute...
Richard Smith's totals only go to 1968...

Where am I anyway. Which one of you is the mailman?

So I guess the Rickenbacker Register here is the most extensive info available....

I don't know if I'm allowed to link to sites that sell books but the ledger is available in this excellent book about Rickenbacker's history:

It is a good resource with great photos but take the numbers with a grain of salt.

Links to sites, is certainly acceptable. Links to discussion forums is, however, against our rules. Your sensitivity is, as always, much appreciated. :)
