1940's B6 tuning peg screw

Post by olieolie1 »

Hi all-
I've owned my 1940's B6 for just over a year, and love it. I've just joined this group.
Recently one of the screws for a tuning peg backed out, and I only realized it when I was setting up a different tuning. I haven't been able to find a replacement at any local hardware/fastener stores, as I cannot match the pitch.

Does anyone out there know the pitch of the tuning peg screws, or where I can find one? This is NOT one of the screws which mount the assembly to the headstock, rather the screw which threads into the peg itself.

Thanks

Mike

I guess you mean what I call the worm gear. Please post a photo of the specific machine you are trying to replace.

Here's a photo of guitar, and then the tuning peg and worm gear. The screw I need attaches the peg to the gear.
thanks

Take the peg to Home Depot you should find a right size thread pitch there it would be in the machine screws.
I have good luck there i find screws for old firearms there go for stainless or brass.

Good luck
