I'm afraid you're right. I'm already considering buying a 12 strings 360 in the next few years.
You've come to the right place for your Ric Acquisition Syndrome support group therapy..... the enablers here on the RRF will do everything possible to make sure that your first Ric does not remain alone, by itself, for long. :D

I think it's all about feel. I own a 360 and a few 330's and I just like the weight and necks better on the 330. The sound is relatively the same. But they are different. You really gotta just try them.

Cyril, I hope you let your first one be really special. Take some time to bond with it and enjoy that experience. I still have the second rick I ever had, though sadly not the first. But I have one just like my first. These guitars are almost sacred to me. :)

Get a 330 from a reputable dealer or person and you will be happy.
330; infinitely more sexy shape, the price is better, few people use the Rick-O-Sound on the 360, and the appeal of the cosmetic deluxe features on the 360 (binding, triangle fretboard inlays), is negated by the rotund silhouette.
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

Just came back from the music shops. They didn't have any current 330 but i managed to try a 1990 330 and a current 360.
Very impressive! They look and sound wonderful, love the narrow neck, perfect for my little hands.
I really prefer the shape of the 330.

Only hesitation left: Jetglo or Fireglo? Both look perfect, i just have to make up my mind.

I asked for an advice on an amp, Fender Blues Junior 3 seems to be a good choice. Can't wait to try it.

I just picked up a 1992 330 in Jetglo (see my NGD thread under Rickenbacker Guitars section) last week and it is a fantastic guitar. Right now it's my favorite!!

You should be able to find a good 330 for about 1100 €, a 360 for about 1400€.
I'd go for a 330 in fireglo or mapleglo.

Here's a 1993 jetglo 330 for 1100.
It's in Belgium though, still worth a long drive I think.

My 2010 360/12 actually sounded brighter than my 1991 330/12. They both had the same scatterwound pickups, so I assume it was something in the body construction and the wood. Now I own a 360/12c63, which sounds and plays totally differently from either of the other two.
