aceonbass wrote:Kevin......When I slot a standard 4-saddle RIC bridge for 8-string use, I space the strings by about 3mm. Given the thickness of the E and A strings, this becomes an issue when slotting your 8-saddle bridges, so you'd need to make the E and A fundamental saddles a bit wider on the bottom, or treble side, and the E and A octave saddles a bit narrower on the upper, or bass side. I think this would be the easiest solution to the problem.
Thanks, Dane! I will keep this in mind.

This specificaly applies to basses strung fundamental string first. If the octace string is first, then reverse specs for modded saddles.

If this does happen again, I'd be interested in two (one fundamental first, one octave first). :)

OK guys. I have a couple major personal things to get through over the next couple months and then hope to get back to this. I have to do a slight design change and need time to work it out.

Even later to the party, but any news on this? Are any still available? I've got a 4003s/8 with a "folded" black tailpiece that I've been trying to figure out a properly intonateable solution for for years now.
