To Mod or not to Mod?

Post by JamieAces »

I didn't buy this beauty to be a wall hanger, or a museum tribute to the great man, but to play in my '50's Rock and a Roll band. It gets totally drowned out on stage without an EQ pedal (recommended!) and I had intended to keep it stock, should I ever need to part with it (I don't intend to) as they are really hard to find in their natural state.

Yet I find myself constantly trawling the forums to find ways to improve it - it's definitely a love-hate-adore relationship! Bigsby, Burns knobs (they look the best) pick up rewiring...the whole shebang. What would YOU do?

Anyway, here she is, 2009 C58, sans Kaufman. Now complete again with 12 flats (which I've just come back to after a few months and gigs with 10 rounds - and yes, it did stay totally in tune. Even gigging).

Sigh, it's telling me I have too many pixels in the image - any help so I can share my pride and joy?

Aha! Here she is (in slightly lower fidelity - well it is from the '50's).

Nice grain.
Modify a guitar the way YOU want it.
Don't blindly copy another artist'sinstrument.

She is nice. It's such a funny beast - like an electric violin.

Anyone else play one in a band scenario through a vox? It becomes invisible, doesn't it?
