RE-HS PU's
Anyone know what type of magnets are used in the reissue HS's?
Has anyone on here changed them out to experiment with the tone?

Re: RE-HS PU's
I'm pretty sure they are alnico 5.
Re: RE-HS PU's
That was my guess.
So .... replacing them with alnico II's would probably sweeten the high end a little?

Re: RE-HS PU's
Not sure, but I do know they would be III less then before.
Re: RE-HS PU's
Maybe I should get some that go to 11?
Re: RE-HS PU's
It looks like I'm going to design and build my own bridge pu.
Re: RE-HS PU's
That could be fun!
Re: RE-HS PU's
I'm pretty excited about it. I have a 3-d printer here at work that I'll make the bobbin with. My brother has a winder. Just have to finish taking measurements and draw everything up.
If it goes OK, I'll make a couple and send you one to give it a work-out before I go into production!

Re: RE-HS PU's
Send me a bass along with the pickup as I'm not sure I want to pull the HS pickup out of the 4001.
Unless someone wants to buy that pickup.

Sounds like a good excuse for a road trip to Cleveland!
