Not all toaster covers are the same

Post by wim »

I experienced some trouble getting an 88 toaster cover on a coil. It appears about 1 to 2 mm less high than normal, which makes the alu bottom plate difficult to assemble and bend.
Anyone ever experience this?

Are you 100% sure the toaster cover is an original RIC part?

I've never experienced any variances in the toaster cover size, even swapping between decades of production.

Pretty sure yes.
I was wary of it at first, but I checked the register for pics of other '87 v64s (it was 87) and they had it too.

Notice the gap between the base plate and the cover, in the middle. Is not a shadow.
It's actually not easy to assemble

I'll take a picture of it when home
