And then there is my 27-page vintage tone mod thread which has been going strong for over a decade on the RIC forum:
http://rickenbacker.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7928

My wiring diagram for 3-pickup guitars takes a part RIC only sold for a little while on their boutique before going with the bypass switch: a push-pull DPDT switch, installed on the 5th knob so it passes the "five foot" test. The benefits of my wiring diagrams are that not only do they pass the five-foot test, but all the controls retain their original functions in the "down" position of the push-pull, so nobody knows the difference until you want them to. Also, I never liked the mid-neck combination in the selector switch up position. I think it sounds insipid. So with one switch my wiring diagram fixes all that.

Send me a PM and an email address if anybody wants it, and I will email out a pdf.

I'm new to Ricks, but old to guitars.
I know they're...different...but this is the 2nd thread I've seen here about caps where there is one more zero than I'm used to seeing.
I've soldered in many .047uf and .022uf caps, but never a .0047 or .0022.
Do Ricks really like these values?

They are not tone caps as you are thinking. The .0047µF cap used to be placed in-line with the bridge pickup on both the guitars and two pickup basses to act as a HPF on those pickups. Modern Ricks, starting sometime in the early to mid 1980s, do not have that cap.

Eeeeeeenteresting!
If you check the DCR of a pickup at the output jack, does it read 0?

Dane, have you tried my mods?

IIRC, Wasn't it Howard Bishop who first converted the 5th knob to control the middle pickup many years ago? Great idea on his part.
