Renaissance - Day of the Dreamer

Post by jps »

I just came back from seeing Renaissance (really, Annie with newer members). She was in top form, still with with truly amazing vocal prowess for someone who has been doing for as long as she has. :D They did a very wide range of their catalog, from the newest material to all the way back to the Jane and Keith Relf era. :D :D :D The show was at the Kent Stage in Kent, Ohio.

I wish she had asked me to play bass on the tour. I was not too impressed with the guy she had with them on this tour. He spent a lot of time reading of a pad, and his playing was extremely stiff sounding. I would have nailed it.

Recently I've been playing in a Renaissance cover band. The bass parts can be tricky but are really fun once you get into them.

Very good, actually. Anne herself complimented her.
