Micro-cubits is probably unnecessary. Making the measurement in nanoquacksters would be good enough...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

I just drew vector art over photos I pulled from the net and compared the length from nut to bridge to the length from nut to center of pickup, so these are surely not perfect numbers.

4003: 74-75% (neck), 87.5% (bridge) [aren't these both octave positions? neat]
4002: 82.5% (neck), 93% (bridge)
Jazz Bass: 81% (neck), 92% (bridge)
4003AC: 81% (neck), 91% (bridge)

Limitations: I could have chosen bad representative photos, especially if the camera lens was angled a bit. But I still think the results are likely to be accurate if not precise. As most of us could tell just by looking, the 4003AC looks a lot like a 4002 or Jazz Bass in pickup spacing. I'm excited to hear it.
Yes, they are. For the open string, the 4001/3 neck pickup is at the fourth harmonic (two octaves up from the fundamental, or first harmonic) and the bridge pickup is at the eighth harmonic, three octaves up.

I only accept measurements in Smoots.

The tone over the "Dragonaut" riff was pretty spot-on. I am impressed by the neck pickup in particular. But I really want to hear the clean tone too.

Me want one! I bet Ric could sell several thousands of those very fast!
The bass is interesting too. I like, but not with the green markers, not my taste.
Hopefully Ric will make those bridges available as a part soon!
I re-read my post and meant that I dont like the Bass, the green markers, the two pickups side by side, all that, except the new bridge design, but still as I mute more and more in my playing style, that would not help much either. Overall, that Bass is not to my taste at all.

Because there is already so much distortion in his bass playing that it kills any tone the bass may have.

It's an affliction from his mother's side of the family.

The bridge looks good. I'm glad they've kept the mute. It would be nice to see a five string version of it on the 4003s/5. A four string 4003 with that bridge, HB1s in the same 4002 pickup spacing, similar pickguard scheme and good shielding would be a good thing as well.

I'll go back to Rics if they start using that improved intonatable bridge. The two-way truss rod is pretty sweet, too.
