Re: Black & Silver Oven Knobs
Looks great, Tommy! I hadn't even considered these for a modern guitar... hmm.
Re: Black & Silver Oven Knobs
This seems to be the only active listing that I can find on Reverb (searched "rogan knobs"):
https://reverb.com/item/34920843-rogan- ... er-inserts
Same seller (chris's Gear Outlet, Staten Island, NY, United States), yet, being sold/priced in British Pounds....?
Must be an error....

Yeah, nothing wrong doing it. It's really a question of why not? These knobs were used on Rickenbackers; it's not as if I am putting Stratocaster knobs on the guitar. I simply put accepted Rickenbacker knobs on my new 330.scott_s wrote:Looks great, Tommy! I hadn't even considered these for a modern guitar... hmm.

That was me; I am more in funds than when I contacted the company, I think it was Rogan, but there were less than 50 people who wanted to buy a set or buy sets. I would’ve been left with a ton of knobs; I would probably still be selling them. LOL. I only had a couple guitars that I wanted to put the knobs on, so I didn’t do it. In my opinion, the black/silver knobs look best atop a silver, back-painted guard. They still look nice over white guards, but they really pop over silver, back-painted guards, but that’s just personal preference. Most of my Ricks just have the standard vintage type knobs. For white guards, I would also suggest back painting the guards-makes the guards pop more, IMO, especially with the vintage TRC.Tommy wrote:They don't exist.
A guy at this forum a few years ago found a company that would manufacture them, but the manufacturer required an order of something like 500 or so. You want to pay for 500 knobs when all you need is four?
That was years ago. They didn't exist then, I don't think they exist now.
I have two knobs left; I bought a set of six...maybe someone has a Combo, early Capri, or Custom Control layout?
There is no reason to ever be bored.

That looks smashing, Paul! Not in a Townshend kind of way, though!!!

And your silver pickguard guitar does look fine. But now I have to do a silver guard? No way is another painted pickguard for me. I have done the white and I have done the gold with those oven knobs. Enough! Maybe I should just play the darn thing.

LOL; No, I wouldn’t tell anyone what kind of parts they “had“ to install on their guitar. The knobs look good on white as well, I was just opining but I thought they looked best the top silver guards.…

Re: Black & Silver Oven Knobs
I just ordered a set of the black knobs on Reverb. I’m glad I checked out this old thread. I have two sets of brown ones in my parts box but I may try out the black ones on some of my Rics just for kicks after looking at several of the photos posted here. Thanks for the heads up JB and everyone else.

Easy mod, looks cool.
Re: Black & Silver Oven Knobs
The knobs arrived this weekend so I’ve been trying them out on various Rickenbackers. Against the white pick guard, I’ve found they look best on my Jetglo 350
I also tried them on a Fireglo Carl Wilson, but decided to keep them on the 350 for now. Nice having the option with the black oven knobs in the parts box.
