Nice pictures. Unfortunately, the don't scream "John Lennon" as they would have had it had it refinished in black or at least "natural." The one-ply pickguard seems really thin too, but perhaps they all were like that then. The pictures just make the guitar look like a cheap guitar. Sad.

Philips screws throughout the guitar. Wonder what happened to the originals?

Baseless speculation: corroded beyond use, kind of like the middle pickup cover?

Even more speculation: isn't there a thought that this is a replica guitar, and that Philips screws are a detail that would have been missed by all but us meddling kids?
