NGD 1959 425

Post by Wizz »

I’ve wanted a vintage 425/450 for a long time and finally was able to add one to my collection. To me they were an interesting guitar because they made their way into the hands of some of my favourite bands but never really got a ton of attention George Harrison, Johnny Ramone, Fred Sonic Smith and Robin Zander had me GASing for these really bad, especially after I checked my 335 and 360/12 off my bucket list. I got this one off reverb and I see someone added it the registry already (anyone got any tips on how to go about updating?). it’s a ‘59 has just the right amount of wear and tear for my tastes its had the tuners changed to grovers and the bridge swapped for a Tune-o-matic. I was going to swap the cracked pickguard for a mid 60’s one (I like the less blocky look of the bridge cut out on the later ones) but I’m noticing that the pickup placement varies and I don’t want to route the body out to accommodate a different guard so I’ll probably just leave the cracked one for the time being. Really stoked on this and thought I’d share.
