I'm coming over from Oz for the next one (it's in my budget). That's if you'll have me, of course!!

Need more 6/12 representation.....

Don't know whether the instruments will make it, though. Maybe if I can arrange to buy one from somebody over there and bring it home afterwards...... thinking, thinking.......

Yes, Tony is a GREAT guy and plays a mean rhythm guitar, too!!

I have now seen Tony's work up close and can attest that his p/g's are top notch!! As a matter of fact, I ordered one for my '72 while at the confluence!!

Ted ordered a pickguard for his '63 4001 on Friday evening and Tony brought it on Saturday! How's that for service? Image Image

Boy Brian, those roundwound strings really do a number on your fingers don't they?Image Kidding, kidding.... let's not open that topic here as well!
Great pics of the confluence guys - looks like everyone had a terrific time. Looking forward to attending Confluence 2006 (of course it doesn't have to be an annual event - how about bi-annual?).

That works for me Steve. The next confluence was discussed at great length over the weekend. I don't think it is an if but a when. This thing that Paul Boyer, Jeff Rath, and Steve Copper started will continue to grow. I was really hoping to see Jeff and Steve in Columbus. Maybe next time.

Next time I will try to make it ... then I can show how I made a 4004L sound like Chris Squire's 60's Ric bass ... by adding 1000k ohm volume pots and a Line 6 bass pod ... or show you how to thumb slap heavy metal ... or show some of my conversion basses ... or all of the above ...

I will go next time, but I am only a guitar player. Maybe if it is a "mixed" instrument event... i.e. Rickenbacker GUITARS and basses (no tubas) you might get more people. Then again, keeping out some might have been the intention (don't want Polka tuba players showing up!)

This was an "open" event. I think the bass group was just more enthusiastic so it seemed like it was intended as "bass only" but it certainly wasn't. It was open to anyone with a Ric.

Gosh, I should have yielded my seat if I had known more wanted to revisit Beatles tunes. Sorry if I hogged. It sure was fun, though.

My eyes were closed in the photo to prevent blindness from seeing so many great Rickenbackers in one place! It was great talking and jamming with all of you. Thanks for the great ideas (true vintage finger-rests are coming soon)! Next time we need more guitarists; maybe even a drummer.
