Are you kidding?!! It's a LOT of fun, Roy!! It took me a while to get into the habit to arrive here on time (typical female), now I'm addicted -- keep the fun going!!

Cheers from across the Big Pond -- to the Brits for all the beautiful music, particulary, The Searchers!!

I just listened to all three of the posted versions again... What struck me about Barbra Streisand's version is that she uses her voice like a musical instument (as indeed it is), but without any attention to the meaning of the words - just the music. And of course she's very good - if you listen to her as if her voice was a clarinet, for example, it's great.
Hope all that is comprehensible  :)
And I voted for Cher previously because her version was new to me, which gave it a particular appeal - but having listened again, it does lack dynamics - so finally, my preference is Cilla. Don't know if your polling system allows for second thoughts Roy...? ... but at least the world and Cilla know how I feel, and that's what counts

Nick: I appreciated your comments with regard to Streisand's version very much. I would agree that there may be an emotional disconnect so to speak in aspects of the sound. Your analysis with regard to her voice does make sense to me. :)
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
