Bassists & pedals.
Re: Bassists & pedals.
I dont know if your into multi=effects, but the new Zoom B3 is getting alot of attention over at "another forum". I have a cheap little Zoom B1 that is pretty useful for the money.
As far as the Sansamp products go, they are very nice units,, I currently have the Para-driver which I believe is much more versatile than the bass driver, it has a mid frequency control and a boost / cut knob which the bass driver lacks, hence the "mid scoop" problem. However alot of people love them.
The VT is great as well. It is one of those, " Im not sure what it does to my tone, but I like it alot " pedals. I sold mine, and would like to try the VT Deluxe.

Please post a link to the "other forum." You're allowed now. I assume as long as it's not discussing politics or religion or bow-chicka-bow-wow.

OK, I thought it was a no-no.
www.talkbass.com
Search the "effects" section. there's a pretty good mega-thread on the B3.

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
Re: Bassists & pedals.

Hello
When I was in a band (trio), I used to use:
Coron Distortion 10 / Big Muff / Ashbash fuzzbrite
Morley Power Wah Fuzz
Carl Martin Red Repeat Delay
Sometimes I used a boss ls2 to split the dry and effect signal, but just for Dist + wah.
cheers.

First, congrats John on persuing the dream!
Second, I think this is self explanatory, but bass compression in my opinion is very crucial. I use it on my Hofner and Mustang constantly since the Fender Mustang is simmilar to a P-bass it sounds great with the digi-tech bass squeeze.
The following setting work really well for me:
7, 4 and 1/2, 3 and 1/2, 3
In that order.

Re: Bassists & pedals.
I'm about done re-doing my pedalboard. I just have to finish up replacing all the pedal to pedal cables with George L's. I have half of them done (the ones with the red plug covers) and make wires neater once that's done. I'll bet Jake can tell what song I'm set up for playing here.
The JETGLO finish name should be officially changed to JETGLO ROCKS!
Re: Bassists & pedals.
I have a couple of ZOOM B3's. The B3 is the best multi-effect pedal I've owned. I don't use the pre-sets though. I just set each of the three stomp modeling sections to the effects I've always liked, and leave it there. In this case, that would be distorion, bass synth, chorus, tremelo, flanger, and delay. It also runs on 9V.

Nice board, Joey, but I'm not that good! Maybe a Beatles song of some sort?rickenbrother wrote:I'll bet Jake can tell what song I'm set up for playing here.

C'mon Jake, take a another look. Maybe this one is clearer.JakeK wrote:Nice board, Joey, but I'm not that good! Maybe a Beatles song of some sort?
HEY!...
I don't use the multieffects often. I usually just use this pedal for tuning and as a volume pedal. This song is one if the exceptions. This pedal does have a decent strings simulator that I use on occasion.

Re: Bassists & pedals.
I'm gonna guess and say:
Hey Bulldog (Rickenbacker 4001S
Hey Jude (Fender Bass VI)
Hey You, Get Off of My Cloud (Vox Wyman bass)
Hey Mr. Reporter (Kinks song, also Rickenbacker 4001S, but that's got a fairly straight bass sound)
