We used to have a drummer that had a border collie.

Ain't that the truth! Chinook helps keep us cool too 'cause whenever he decides to shake off the water he's accumulated chasing the sprinklers, it invariably right next to us. Share the cool... Yeah, that's it!

Those Border Collies are supposed to be among the most intelligent of all dogs.
Is he keeping the Rickenbackers herded together ?

He tries to herd just about anything that moves. But, he's still got a lot of that wild and wacky puppyness, so he doesn't get to go anywhere near the Ricks...
