She's active in the register.

I listed the serial as 0000, since there wasn't one...

I’m rotating through all 3 and I’m answering a question I had.

I do very much like the Ric factory strings.

As soon as I found out I was getting the 4001 I almost ordered a $35 set of real Ric strings, but I did already have a few sets of the EB extra slinkies so I didn’t order the ric strings.

I have the EB strings on both the 4004 AND THE 4003W.

The EB strings are half the price and I’m happy with them.

IF I found a slew of Ric strings at a discount I’d stock up.

May I suggest you change the 0000 to XXXX which is how RIC would do it on a jack plate.

Nah, that's exactly what RIC does on replacement jack plates.

That’s great that Ben did that. John responded to a request I made for a part for some bass or other I had. How many CEOs would do that for you?

I had a very pleasant exchange, I think on facebook with John before he retired. Class act.

So the shaft on one of the tuners is stripped.

With the nickle tuners being reverse AND the E and G being put on backwards they actually turn normally.

Modern tuners are exactly the same footprint! (Says something for not changing much over the years)

So I put some more modern tuners (from my 95) in the D and G positions.

Now all the tuners turn in the “normal” direction.

The new tuners are chrome vs the nickle of the originals. I’ll see if some muriatic acid will take the chrome off and closer match the nickle.

In the mean time I’ll search for another nickle tuner or at least the shaft and repair the original tuner. In the mean time the original tunas will rest in the case. If I can find the parts I’ll return it to the half-backwards configuration.

I’m pondering going all hipshot ultralights on the 95 as I’m inspired to complete the 5 string conversion on it.
