These are songs with simple bass lines well done, which really lets you hear the mwah and cry that a fretless bass is capable of.

On The Turning Away - Pink Floyd.
Even Flow - Pearl Jam.
Black - Pearl Jam

Glad you're enjoying you new fretless bass, Brian! :D

Thanks Joey. I'll look on youtube for the videos for those tunes.

Thanks Aitch, I would have also mentioned "Hey You" by Pink Floyd, but I don't think the whole song (studio version) features a fretless bass, just the beginning and and bass solo part in the song. The rest sounds more like fretted bass to me.

Brian, if you dig those two Pearl Jam songs, Listen to "Once" by Pearl Jam from the Ten album. cool song, cool fretless bass playing and tone. The song just not as popular as the others I'd mentioned.

Every Time You Go Away - by Paul Young, is a pop song with some nice fretless playing and tone that I think was done by Pino Palladino.

Jeff, if you need some more Primus/Les Claypool...

Yuck, disabled video... Wynona's Big Brown Beaver

Jerry Was A Racecar Driver

Mr. Krinkle

YYZ+Tommy The Cat

I can't find one of them doing the South Park Theme Song. :(

These are some of my favs. With all of the vids you've posted, I figure it's time to return the favor.

I don't play his style but I do enjoy listening to the things he can make his bass do and I'm kinda fond of his psychotic song writing.

Not really a favorite of mine, but it did feature a fretless bass:

Come On - The Rolling Stones (Bill played his famous homemade fretless bass)

Here's one from Pino's early days. Classic MM fretless...

The flip side of this single was an instrumental around 7 mins long that I used to play to death back in '83...

One of my favorite songs that features a fretless is "Family Snapshot " by Peter Gabriel.

Trip Shakespeare -- "Honey Tree". John Munson played a lot of fretless on Trip Shakespeare stuff.

The Cure -- "Speak My Language". That might be upright, though.

This is my favorite fretless tone from one of my favorite bassists, alongside his longtime friend, the great Danny Gottlieb.
