Nice! So, which era Fender amp would go best with this, White or brown Tolex®?
Makes a nice sandwich:
White Twin 1963
White Twin 1963
360/12C63 WHT BT
360/12C63 WHT BT
Bwown Super 1961
Bwown Super 1961
I think I'd go with the White Twin; besides -- its louder!

So, does this mean you will have the high bid in the end, Ron?

That guitar will match my new little Vox AC4 perfectly.........

:D

Is it just me, or is it just mega exciting to have something different coming out of the factory, regardless of colour/style etc?

Totally fabulous.

RICKENBACKER - every guitar is a work of art.

Super truth, John!

Eric this guitar is fabulous. Deluxe of the deluxe. I love the contrast of the cream and the black trim. The double bound body (of course) and the black neck binding with the full width inlays. This is classy and gorgeous.

There is another...

This guitar was played by a member of America and sold for $4999:

My question was: Is this the first factory Rick 12er to combine the 660/12-style wide neck with the thru-slot headstock?

RIck, the guitar you are showing does not have slot thru headstock for the tuners.

I think you are addressing a different (and equally interesting) question, that is, whether this is the first 300 series Rick 12er to have the wider 660-style wide neck.

Not sure but didn't RIC make a one off wide necked NS 370/12 McGuinn with an Alder body? 8)

Ron,

Right you are. I was more focused on the issue of one-off special wide neck Rick 12 strings.

I know RIC can't tell but I'd love to know if it was done as a proof of concept as an indicator of things to come or just for fun?

Even though it has been said that the narrower neck 12 playability issue may be all in the mind, it is interesting to hear how nice this one plays.

Is my 660/12 easier to play than my 360/12 V64? Yes. Does my 660/12 sound like my V64? No. Would it be nice to have the semi-hollow body Rick 12 sound with the easier play of a 660 neck? You bet!

Sign me up if RIC decides to go into production with this model.

Great looking! Looking forward to other unique basses coming out as well. I agree it is exciting to see something
very different from the factory. And call me weird, but I even like how the "Made In America" sticker looks
to be perfectly square / level. :)
