Well, a few days in and I'm STILL learning what this site can do!

To be honest, the change in format put me off.

I am very happy you kept the old color format. This being the only forum of which I'm a active member, I don't have a lot to compare it to so it's all new to me.

I have less than 100 posts since 2003 on the Alembic forum, and about the same on the RIC corporate site.

This is the first that really felt like home.

Thanks for all the hard work Peter & Gil.

I have a LOT to learn!

I've hunted around, and can't find the answer to this question, so I guess this is the place to put it...
In each section, when viewing the list of topics, each topic has a circular icon to the left of the title. Some are blue, some are red. Some have a star in them, some don't. Some are scrolling downwards, some are stationary. :?: :?: Anyone enlighten this poor, technologically-challenged, benighted soul...?

See here, Nick. Also, blue means read, and red means unread. (Hey, i like the sound of that phrase! :) )

Thanks Sheena!
What I really miss is the "New" flag that used to show up, to indicate sections that had a new post since you last looked. Is there an equivalent of that here? or can I adjust a setting to get it?

Yes, there's an answer to that question, too, in General information forums < Technical support. Here. But i haven't discovered a way so that it would be done automatically, so i click "Mark forums read" every time i'm done with reading. :)

I guess I'll get used to it.
I appreciate all the work but right now, to be honest, I'm not crazy about it.
It is a lot like most forums.
But I like the old one better.
Minority of one I guess.

Many more than just you liked the old one better, Mark. But this new one is all we have to work with now, and we will never be able to get our old friend back....so I guess we just have to be happy about the things that are better with this one, like BIG PICTURES! :D

Don't let Jim fool you, folks, he is both technically astute AND possessed of great taste in Rickenbacker guitars! I can attest to that personally :D

Mark: In the future there will be other themes developed and I hope that you will like one of them. While it may not have been evident, the previous software was difficult to work with on a number of levels. Also, not a day went by when I got requests for archival material which was a nightmare to search and store easily. Just in passing about 3% use the Old Forum look at the present time.
