Looks like Adrian Belew's band the Bears is a RIC band:

They have good taste..looks like a '60s vintage 4001 and the 625 is pretty early too, maybe as early as '64-'65..The machine heads look like the ones they used with pearloid tips (Van Gentz)??(sp.)--I wonder if they are original to the guitar....

I saw them several times over the years, when they were the "Psychodots" (without Mr. Belew). They were fantastic. They are probably one of the most underated bands live & in the studio.

I had the opportunity to speak with Bob Nyswonger the superb bassist. He was a complete gentleman & we spoke about basses.

He was playing a F****r P-J. I complimented him on his sound & mentioned that I played a RIC 4001 & talked about it's virtues. A few years later I saw a photo of him with playing 4001 in Fireglow.

By no means am I implying that because of my discussion he decided to play RIC basses.
I am just delighted to see that a great bass player I admire has choosen the brand of instrument I prefer.
