String additions to B6
When the Hawaiian players moved away from the early tunings to things like B11 and C6, they tuned up. The absence of low string values seems to leave a lot of tonal space. This seems to be one of the reasons they began making 7 and 8 string models. I know some players did conversions of 6 string guitars. I'm toying with the idea of making an addition of one or two strings to my B6, the neck is wide enough. Does anyone have any ideas on this type of project? The guitar in question has had a neck repair, so its collectibility is not great. Aloha, DM.

Right on, Richard. I suppose replacing the bobbin would not be too bad. The bridge and nut would have to be rebuilt with epoxy. I'm not about to rush into this, but the thing that looks the most daunting is the tuner question. Just how one deals with the headstock holes. They are bound to show. Thanks DM.
