Peter Buck announced in an online interview a few days ago that R.E.M. will undertake a full scale world tour for their next record, which should be out around this time next year. I do believe that Australia and Japan will have tour dates for the first time since the Monster Tour of '95.
You haven't lived until you've seen Peter's 5 Vox AC30 setup, complete with dinosaur toys on top of them (gifts from his twin daughters).
