Got this on eBay a few months ago. It was alleged to be a basket case, but it was all there, sans logo. Its a 50s pedal steel, double six. I thought the only ones that existed were from the catalogue shoot. Anyone know anything???

I never heard of a D6 pedal steel.
Very interesting.
You can probably get some info on the Steel Guitar Forum.

It sounds amazing, and barely stays in tune (Like most pedal steels of the era) Its a blast to play, and sits well with my other natural finished 50s ricks. I'll check out the steel forum. I'm still learning how to play it, and having a ton o' fun.

It is Kenny. (the pedal steel isn't named "kenny", its just fun). A friend of mine says it makes the sound of Angels Crying. I really just wanted it because it goes with my other Rics, and because I thought it might be historically significant, and worthy of some TLC. As it turns out, it's quite lovely to play and hear. Who knew??
