Amp placement

Don,

I have several open backed amps, AC 100, AC 30, Twin and vibroverb. What distance do you recommend for best tone and performance between the open cabinent and a wall?

Usually about 3 feet is what I like because of the bounce you get from the wall. That seems to disperse the sound so the other guys in the band can hear me. Of course this only works real well if the wall is a hard wall and not carpeted. Carpeted walls soak up everything on a stage and you can hardly even hear your own amp. That's when you have to have a good monitor system to run everyone and everything into it to hear.
