Geoff, sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I've had a few health problems that I'm
dealing with. Here is something that I found
there is a CD out called the (Koppycats) were
they perform Beatles songs, do you have this
CD? Are any of the band members still playing
today and playing the songs hey recordered?
I know back in the 60's they didn't get a lot
of air play here in up state NY. One more thing
is there any way of getting in touch with Ian.

Hi Lou,
Yes some of the original band members of the Zodiacs are still around and as far as I am aware playing with different bands.
I have not seen or heard the CD Koppycats,I will in due course get back to you with as much information as possible.
Your interest in Ian & The Zodiacs is to say the least intriging, the band performed at the Iron Door on numerous occasions, they were very popular & had a decent following,Ian was a good entertainer.
Sorry to read about your health problems.

Leo,I don't have reliable information on the Zodiacs-Star-Club-Show 7.
Ian is much more qualified to answer any question's regarding the band.
I have explained your interest in the band to him.
Ian will be delighted to receive your e-mail.

and amps? Mine is this for guitars I
have a 350V63 Rickenbacker in Jetglow.
a Gretsch 6128TBEE Duo Jet and a Steinberger
GR4 all played thru a reissue Vox AC-30TBX.

If it's not too personnel Lou I'm sure we would all be interested in the dialogue between you & Ian(Zodiacs).
I remain intrigued re your interest in the Zodiacs & Ian.
The band did have some success with the "Crying Game" in America, perhaps your interest stems from this!!
Forgive my ignorance Lou,I can only assume from your description of your guitar & equipment set up that you are a member of a band.
If my assumption is correct, where do you play? what's the name of the band?.

Geoff, right now I'm working with a friend
of mine. His name is Jay Traynor he was the
oringal lead singer of the 60's group (Jay and
The Americans). Here is a couple of songs they
did She Cried, Only in America, back in the
summer of 05 I did work with Al Jardine of the
Beach Boys we were at the Vocal Hall of Fame
show in Wildwood NJ. The show was taped an is
now out on DVD. This year I will be with Jay
in October & November doing a few shows. Jay
now sings with the Tokens who had the hit The
Lion Sleeps Tonight. I got to work with other
artist who were also on the show in 05. I'm a
Martial Arts teacher I teach Tae Kwon Do and
Combat Hapkido I'm a 3Dan in both Arts. My
daughter is also a 3 Dan in Tae Kwon Do, So I
get to work with a lot of different artist.

I was overjoyed & surprised to read your posting Lou.
With your interest in Ian & the Zodiacs I suspected that you were perhaps in a 60s type rock & roll band.
You don't mention other muscians, would it be presumptuous to assume that in the main you gig as a duo,do you sing & play.
I have to confess I have no knowledge of Jay & The Americans, have heard of Al Jardine. The Tokens are also familiar to me.
The Martial Arts side of your life also appears to be really interesting.

"The Vocal Hall of Fame" again, I have to hold up my hand haven't heard of this organisation, would you be so kind and enlighten me Lou.

Geoff, I will give you some email
address so that you can check out
the Vocal Hall of Fame. I also will give
you Jay's and check out the photo section.
I'll try to do this later tonight after I
teach. Here something that you may like
back in the early 80's I was offered some
work by the WWF to do Pro Wrestling.

We used to have a Stadium in Liverpool, compared with the 10-20 thousand seater auditoriums of today it was grubby and very elementary.
The management hired it out for musical events,it's main function was promoting Boxing & Wrestling.
I have been a follower of Wrestling since the late fifties used to attend all the Wrestling
shows every Thursday without fail. The Stadium closed its doors in the early 80s,Wrestling hasn't been promoted on such a scale in Liverpool since.
Incidentally Pete Best(Beatles drummer)father was the Master of Ceremony introducing both for the Boxing & the Wrestling.
Enjoyed reading your posting thanks Lou.

Geoff, I'm still waiting to hear back from Ian,
I sent the email last Sunday. Should you talk
to him ask him if he got my email. I have recordered in the past two songs that I wrote
both the words and music. One is rockabilly
and the other is country rock. Did you ever
see Ian and the band back in the 60's play
any gigs?

LOU,
Ian & the Zodiacs played many times at the Iron Door.
The advert I have chosen for you is for FRIDAY 5TH MAY 1961.
How did you get on with the songs? Are they now part of your act?
I wouldn't worry just yet for a reply, some of these 60s rock bands get hundreds of e-mails a day.
