Rickenbacker 12-String Bass ?!

Post by surfrat29 »

Here's an example of the kind of fun we have with Photoshop over at my 12-String Bass web site. We have a page devoted to fantasy 12's and I finally got around to creating a Rickenbacker. Can you say Neck Dive? I think if Mr. Hall ever decides to build 12's he's going to have to incorporate smaller tuning machines for the high octave strings just to make the headstock smaller and lighter.Image

We need a 15 string Ric ... and of course it will come with a tripod to support the headstock ...

Some day I will get an 8 string Ric and string it low D or low B ... heheheheheh that would be cool ...

A production 12 or 15 will never happen.

Taking into account that this is one of those "flights of fancy" threads... couldn't a bass-version of the Rickenbacker 12-string guitar headstock be worked out?

That might actually be pretty wicked!
My first bass was a Rickenbacker...
My best bass is a Rickenbacker...
My last bass may very well be a Rickenbacker

Actually Rickenbacker figured out how to make a 12 string guitar use the same size head as a 6 string ... somebody smart could do the same to a 4003 or a 4003s8 ...

You would probably have to do a custom bridge ...
