RW/RP?
Please refresh my memory...on a Stratocaster, the middle pickup is reverse wound/reverse polarity, and because of this gets its unique tone when used in the #2 and #4 positions?
???!!! Not on a garden variety vintage Strat!!
I have owned a number of 3 PU guitars besides Strats, and, assuming you can get all possible combinations or any PU alone[I've rewired Gibson 3 PU guitars to get the flexibility]a combination of bridge and mid, or neck and mid Always gives you that, uh, what's the proper word here?Quack?
That Strats are famous for.I'm personally sick of that sound.I think what Kenny is referring to is a custom ordered mid PU that, when used in conjunction with another PU, gives you Humbucking
and quieter operation.Did I phrase that right, Toneman?

Kenny, AFAIK having the middle pup RW/RP has nothing to do with quack or quack-lack. It's just a particular sound of Strat pups that happens when the coils are in parallel in postions 2 and 4. And some Strat pups do the quack tone better than others, it's just a matter of listening and maybe asking others.
But don't be misled by the RW/RP thing. It's a red herring, and we all know herrings don't quack.

"Quack or quack-lack"??!!
Does this have anything to do with that screwball AFLAC duck on the t.v. commercials? Man alive, I wouldn't want Gilbert Gottfried's voice quacking out of any Stratocaster I had! And if I did, I'd have to splinter it over Chevy Chase's head.
"Price check! Aisle 5!" ***CRASH***

You had to ask:

You can but just about any mascot. When I bought my new Perfect Sleeper, I turned down the opportunity to "adopt" a stuffed Serta Counting Sheep.
