Z coil loaded RIC

Post by loverickbass »

Hey Sergio, I've got a guitar that has Leo Fender Z coils. Wondering what your thoughts would be on this idea in a RIC? First of all, could it be done, I mean cram a double coil into the current style RIC surround? Here is a pic:

BTW, this setup really brings out the hi freq!

Hi Cole. Yes, I'm familiar with that particular Fender concept for 6-stringers. Cramming a such a double coil into a Rickenbacker cover is the easiest of tasks. "This setup really brings out the high frequencies". The coils are wired in parallel then?
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

I don't know Sergio. It sounds like a "fat strat." It has all the bell like tone of a strat but the highs are higher and the lows are lower. Let me see if I can find out the answer to your question.
