RIckenbacker Blues aka Socal Confluence Boogie

Post by charlyg »

I have a few ideas here guys, but I can't do it alone. I have two "grooves" on the bass ready to go, and would like to find a drummer. maybe 2 guitars, and harmonica, not to mention vocals if I ever get the lyrics down, to fill it out. I want to write an online song to have ready before Aug. We can put them up on one of those sites ready to do that, or I can use my own site to store files. Here's the gist, I put up my bass lines, you play along and record your part and send it up.

The other idea is to have a blues set list for the jam session.

Something like:
Love in Vain
Stormy Monday
Miss Ann
johnny b goode

Mostly on the boogie side, as not all like slow blues. EVERYONE likes boogie, and it's fun to play!!

We can either keep in touch here, or private email so as to have a bigger surprise!

Anyone up for some "adventure"?

Which reminds me, do any of the mp3 players also record, especially via internal mic?

I just bought the Boss microtrak. It's a 4 track recorder that uses SD memory! And way cheaper than the stereo recorders like the M-Audio. So, together with the fastrack usb, I have everything I need to get tracks onto the iMac.

I buddy of mine got one of those. The sound was actually pretty fantastic for such a small package. Have fun with it Charly!

I'd be happy to play guitar on at least one of the tunes. "Love in Vain" is a good one. I'll bring a harp or two as well!

I'm game. You might want to consider adding "Mustang Sally" to the list. The last blues jam I was at, opened up with those old blues standards "Love Me Do" and "Please Please Me". Image

Thanks Richard. This gave me a good laugh. Those ol' bluesy Beatles.

Actually, I think the harp player was the one that actually chose those numbers.

They are great songs and can certainly be played in blues style. It just struck me funny for some reason. As I move throughout the age span, I look for those funny moments where I can find them.
