Old Yes promo vids on YouTube

Post by stevebasshead »

If you've not yet seen these they're worth checking out. On "Then" Chris and Tony swapped instruments, miming of course, but Tony doesn't look as comfortable on bass as Chris does on keyboard. On "Everydays" there's a Benny Hill-esque nun chase sequence in the middle!

Thats part of the TV show from Belgium (I think)that has Astral Traveller on with the 21 frettter.
I taped it years ago when Granada TV here in Manchester broadcast that show and several Beat Club shows late at night.
Too many basses is an oxymoron

The "Yesmuseum" user on YouTube certainly has some interesting videos to watch besides the two I mentioned above. I can see what I'm going to be doing during my lunch break tomorrow...

I'd seen that bass in the clip of "No Opportunity..." on the YesYears video but never the entire thing until the wonders of YouTube arrived. I wonder what it would take to pull all the early Yes promo's onto one DVD for release? Depends how far and wide the rights ownership has spread more than anything I guess. Be nice to see though.

This place has got me on a total Yes binge!

Anyway, I found some cool bootleg quality stuff from '77 here. They are on fire!

Then you really did miss out. Out of all the venues I've been to, The Apollo was the absolute best for atmosphere - the place was always buzzing. Even though it was a bit of a dive, I still miss it.

Sadly, although I've seen them many times, I never saw Yes there.

What's Chris playing on "Turn Of The Century"? It's a very grainy pic so it's hard to tell if it's the T-Bird or the fretless Guild or something else...

PLEASE...SOMEBODY locate some 1st gen quality of this show!!
This has got to be one of my favorite tours for Yes. The version of CTTE, in my opinion, is one of their best live, and the sound of Chris' Rickenbacker is awesome! Does anyone have any soundboard recordings of the GFTO tour, besides the stuff on Yesshows??? Jon's voice on this tour sounds GREAT!
