Is it still possible to have posts sent to an email address? I've clicked around but I can't figure out how to set that up...!

thanks in advance!

John: Thank you for this question. Notification is an add on feature which will be explored in the near future along with a spell checker as time permits. At this stage we are still trying to get people registered and accustomed to the new format, yours truly included.

Do you mean to tell me we're operating without a spell checker?

Peter, I know you're still working and tweaking the forum and it will take some time to get everything just right. Just wondering if the forum will it eventually go back to having only registered members being able to read as well as post?

This is configurable, however - what is the problem with having the forum readable to everyone?

What does it mean when the icon next to a topic is scrolling?

My compliments to the Techies on the forum makeover. I really like the whole "avatar" concept. It's nice to see everyone's mugs next to their postings, or whatever fave Rick instrument or headstock is serving as proxy for one's mugshot.

Speaking of avatars, I have a ton of cool pics(fringe benefit of playing in a band) but my software won't let me compress the the pics enough to post. smallest I've been able to compress any photo file has been to 33kb, which is obviously too large. I've been using Microsoft Picture editor. I do not have Photo Shop.

Paolo, download Irfanview. It will let you resize and compress the pictures so they are suitable for posting and for using as an avatar.

I use Photoshop elements, much cheaper and easier to use than Photoshop. And the version I have came with both Mac and Pc pgms!

Ps - On the old board, I missed my 3000th. I now have another chance!

I read the thread in the past, please note that search engines will not be able to "phish" email addresses as the new forum hides them and allows registered users to email each other (or send a private message) without reveling the real email address (the recipient will receive your email address though, which is fine for this purpose).

Thanks for the info Joey and Charly. I found a photo that I was able to shrink down, but it's not my favorite. I'll check into that software Joey. Happy Weekend all!

It means that this is a popular topic (more than 25 posts).
