So guess who will be warming up for the Led Zeppelin show?

A little birdy has told me that we should have some exciting "official" news soon on who will be warming up for Led Zeppelin in December 2007......as if most of you don't already know yet who at least one musician is!!
(it would have been November if Jimmy Page had not broken his finger)

I just now read that one of those involved won't be able to make Dec. 10th (I won't mention names for those that don't want the spoiler, although I thought it was common knowledge by now?).

Scott, I hear ya! After exhausting google, I went to Chris's site and found this:
"October 26, 2007
Chris will be joining Rick Wakeman, Keith Emerson, and Simon Kirke to warm up the crowd for Led Zeppelin's reunion gig at the Ahmet Ertegun memorial concert at the O2 Dome in London on November 26. After Chris and Alan White spoke on the phone on Wednesday it now seems almost 100% likely that Alan will join in as well. The music that will be performed will be a version of ELP’s “Fanfare for the Common Man”, originally composed by Aaron Copland."

Keith Emerson and Rick Wakeman? Seems like a clash of ego's?

Aaron Copland - my faveroite American composer and Fanfare for the Common Man probably may fave of all of his stuff..... the line up for the warmup band. I like the Zep but man the warm up band may just smoke the headliner. Seems to me that Kieth Emmerson is a Copland fan as well....

Emerson will be amazing doing Copland. He has a long history of doing FFFTCM with ELP in the seventies. Pretty good for a song written in 1941 for Eugene Goosens for a musical tribute honoring those engaged in World War IIram wrote:Aaron Copland - my faveroite American composer and Fanfare for the Common Man probably may fave of all of his stuff..... the line up for the warmup band. I would not be surprised to see this lineup continue over, in some form, into the 40th as well....

Well I'm one of the lucky ones with a ticket. It sounds like the trouble I've had sorting out the new date with my work will be made up for by the musicians playing on the night. Shame we wont get any YES or a track from FOOW. Or will we Chris...?
Re: So guess who will be warming up for the Led Zeppelin show?
I like the idea of Chris Squire and keith Emerson playing music together ...

So we have a bassist, two drummers and two keyboard players? This is one intriguing pickup band. But I guess that's all you'd need for the Fanfare. No need for topgun vocals or guitars. Squire will really take this one over the rainbow...I always liked the ELP version, but just imagining Squire on bass gives me the goosebumps.

I'm thinking Fanfare alla Amazing Grace/Fish..... like I said the warm up band might smoke the headliner.

Seems like everything is in place for an XYZ reunion!
I may be mistaken here, but I thought Wakeman and Emerson are quite friendly and have often spoken about playing together. It looks like this might be the perfect chance.
I would like to see Howe or Fripp involved just from a musician's standpoint. Fripp has nothing to do with Ahmet Ertegun though.
