Re: Two Weeks From Today
That's a lovely brig. Does it anchor near your place?ozover50 wrote:Here's the view from my back door:The boys from INXS are in town so they invited us on board their little runabout for a beer: Hahaha........... don't I wish!! These are a couple of pics from Brian and Penny's trip to St. Lucia earlier in the year.
Here's another one of Ron and Fran Viney relaxing on my back patio:
That 360 V64 is gorgeous as well. An AFG finish, yes?
Re: Two Weeks From Today
Hi Paul. The brig is actually in the Caribbean, where Brian and Penny were in June. We don't have anything like that here [pity].
The V64 is Ron Viney's and it's a 'standard' Fireglo but one of the best examples I've seen without actually being AFG. It doesn't have that 'pinky' tinge that many do.

Cool pics, keep 'em coming!
The JETGLO finish name should be officially changed to JETGLO ROCKS!

Re: Two Weeks From Today
Nice pics! I am so jealous!
Looks like some great times and great weather in Oz.... Here in Minnesota it's snowing like crazy, and according to the forecast we might get 18 inches by tomorrow evening! We plan to go out and cut our Christmas tree today, before the snow gets too deep to get into the woods! I still wish I was somewhere warm and sunny, though!

Re: Two Weeks From Today
If it's any consolation Melissa we will be flying home to snow. But we have two more weeks of glorious sunshine and temps in high numbers before that happens. Congrats btw on the 350SH now I am jealous.
We are off to see Darren and Robyn today so that is going to be a real treat. I can't wait.
We'll take some pics and Aitch will post them a bit later.

Re: Two Weeks From Today
On Saturday we went to the Healesville Sanctuary to check out some of our unique wildlife. I took only a few pics but Brian has plenty of the kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, etc. so we'll get them up here in a few days. In the meantime here's a few.
This is a dingo with one of the handlers. They are much maligned but only because people don't read the signs in the areas where they roam in the wild. Take the correct precautions and you're OK but remember..... they are not your average household dog! I didn't know we had buzzards in Australia! This is our largest raptor - the wedge tailed eagle........ a relatively small male one. Unfortunately things have changed a lot at the sanctuary since I was a kid. You can't too close to the animals and there aren't any koala cuddling sessions.

Re: Two Weeks From Today
Yesterday Brian and Penny met Darren, Robyn and the kids and again others took the majority of the pics. However, here's one of Brian's first encounter with a Rickenbacker acoustic:
I guess Trotty's kitchen floor is becoming a pretty familiar backdrop!! Re: Two Weeks From Today
OK. We've hooked up Brian's camera. Here are some more wildlife shots.
This is an emu...... our largest bird. Smaller than an ostrich but still big enough!! And a kookaburra...... a member of the kingfisher family. It has a call that sounds like laughter and is therefore often referred to as the laughing jackass.

Penny and yours truly:
I nice little brook runs through the sanctuary:
This is a frill-necked lizard. When they attack they run on their hind legs with the frill spread out..... quite mean looking!
Re: Two Weeks From Today
A red-tailed black cockatoo:
A better shot of the dingo:
A kite in flight:
Re: Two Weeks From Today
A barn owl....... weird looking things!
Finally..... some kangaroos and wallabies!
It was a pretty warm day, so they weren't jumping around too much:
Re: Two Weeks From Today
And the koalas...... They were pretty inactive too - just lying around in the trees. None of them fell out, either!!
Re: Two Weeks From Today
So....... here we are at the Trott residence. Typical Darren greeting...... "would you like one of these?"
Penny and Robyn get to know each other:
