I read about this on the TDPRI -- apparently it: has a 12AX7 preamp, is solid-state rectified, has a 10" speaker, and has power-scaling built in.

IMO, only the last two could be considered "improvements" over the original...

a) I hear they sound terrific.

b) Why the TV front design?? Grrr.

I dunno why they picked that TV front; I'm not all that crazy about the "TV" front design either; it was cool for the original TV amp, but let's face it, Vox changed the design to something more practical for a reason!
